Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HDAC9 RNA is linked to patient survival in 23 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated HDAC9 data layer compared with 10 for mutation status and 3 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in mesothelioma (MESO), where higher HDAC9 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HDAC9 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as ESCA and KIRC show a favorable association.

MESO, UVM, and THYM are the cancer types where HDAC9 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
