Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HDAC8 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HDAC8 data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher HDAC8 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HDAC8 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
KIRP, BLCA, and UCEC are the cancer types where HDAC8 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
