Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HAO2 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated HAO2 data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher HAO2 mass-spec protein is associated with better overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated HAO2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC show a favorable association.
CCRCC are the cancer types where HAO2 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
