HAND2

Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, HAND2 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of HAND2’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where HAND2 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types HAND2 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

BLCA, THCA, and UCEC are the cancer types where HAND2 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
