Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, H3P36 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of H3P36’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where H3P36 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types H3P36 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.

UCEC, BRCA, and BLCA are the cancer types where H3P36 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
