Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, H2BU1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of H2BU1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where H2BU1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types H2BU1 is over-expressed in tumor.
BLCA, COAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where H2BU1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
