Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, H2AC3P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of H2AC3P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where H2AC3P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types H2AC3P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, LIHC, and KIRC are the cancer types where H2AC3P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
