Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, H1-0 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 15 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of H1-0’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where H1-0 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types H1-0 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, THCA, and HNSC are the cancer types where H1-0 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
