Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GSG1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GSG1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where GSG1L RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GSG1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, COAD, and LUAD are the cancer types where GSG1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
