Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GRIN2C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GRIN2C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where GRIN2C RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GRIN2C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, LIHC, and COAD are the cancer types where GRIN2C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
