Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GRIN2B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GRIN2B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where GRIN2B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GRIN2B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LIHC and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

COAD, LIHC, and THCA are the cancer types where GRIN2B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
