Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GPR17 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GPR17’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where GPR17 RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GPR17 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BLCA and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
BLCA, KICH, and LUAD are the cancer types where GPR17 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
