Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GPR137C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 13 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GPR137C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where GPR137C RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GPR137C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and READ show the opposite, repressed pattern.

HNSC, LIHC, and UCEC are the cancer types where GPR137C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
