Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GJA1 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 5 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated GJA1 data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where higher GJA1 Mutation is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GJA1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as UCEC and UCS show a favorable association.
UCEC, LIHC, and ESCA are the cancer types where GJA1 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
