Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GC RNA is linked to patient survival in 17 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated GC data layer compared with 4 for mutation status and 8 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher GC RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GC expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as BLCA and LIHC show a favorable association.
HNSC, KIRP, and COAD are the cancer types where GC RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
