Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GAS5-AS1 RNA is linked to patient survival in 21 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated GAS5-AS1 data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher GAS5-AS1 RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GAS5-AS1 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as KIRP and KIRC show a favorable association.

KIRP, LGG, and UVM are the cancer types where GAS5-AS1 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
