Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GAL3ST2 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 1 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated GAL3ST2 data layer compared with 26 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher GAL3ST2 mass-spec protein is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated GAL3ST2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as COAD show a favorable association.
COAD are the cancer types where GAL3ST2 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
