Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GADD45B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 12 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GADD45B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where GADD45B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GADD45B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LUSC and LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUSC, LIHC, and LUAD are the cancer types where GADD45B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
