Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, GABRA6 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of GABRA6’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where GABRA6 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types GABRA6 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and UCEC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
THCA, KIRC, and UCEC are the cancer types where GABRA6 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
