Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM8A6P RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of FAM8A6P’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where FAM8A6P RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types FAM8A6P is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRP and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRP, COAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where FAM8A6P tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
