Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM89A mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 4 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated FAM89A data layer compared with 23 for mass-spec protein and 1 for mutation status.
The strongest signal is observed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC), where higher FAM89A mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated FAM89A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and LSCC show a favorable association.
CCRCC, HNSC, and LSCC are the cancer types where FAM89A mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
