Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM53A Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated FAM53A data layer compared with 28 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in thymoma (THYM), where higher FAM53A Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated FAM53A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
THYM and COAD are the cancer types where FAM53A Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
