Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM50A Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated FAM50A data layer compared with 29 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in esophageal carcinoma (ESCA), where higher FAM50A Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated FAM50A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
ESCA and SKCM are the cancer types where FAM50A Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
