Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM239B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 5 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of FAM239B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where FAM239B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types FAM239B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, CHOL, and KICH are the cancer types where FAM239B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
