Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, FAM133CP RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 6 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of FAM133CP’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where FAM133CP RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types FAM133CP is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, KICH, and COAD are the cancer types where FAM133CP tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
