Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, EIF4BP8 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of EIF4BP8’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where EIF4BP8 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types EIF4BP8 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as BRCA and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.
HNSC, COAD, and BRCA are the cancer types where EIF4BP8 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
