Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, EIF3I Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated EIF3I data layer compared with 24 for mass-spec protein and 6 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where higher EIF3I Mutation is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated EIF3I expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as SKCM show a favorable association.
LIHC and SKCM are the cancer types where EIF3I Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
