Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, EIF2D RNA is linked to patient survival in 20 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated EIF2D data layer compared with 1 for mutation status and 8 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where higher EIF2D RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated EIF2D expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as MESO and UVM show a favorable association.
KIRP, LIHC, and KICH are the cancer types where EIF2D RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
