Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, EIF1P4 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of EIF1P4’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), where EIF1P4 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types EIF1P4 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PRAD and HNSC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

LUSC, COAD, and ESCA are the cancer types where EIF1P4 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
