Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, EGLN3P1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 3 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of EGLN3P1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where EGLN3P1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types EGLN3P1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and LIHC show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KIRC, COAD, and LIHC are the cancer types where EGLN3P1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
