Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, EDC4 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of EDC4’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), where EDC4 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types EDC4 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRP, HNSC, and LIHC are the cancer types where EDC4 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
