Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DEFB4A RNA is linked to patient survival in 18 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated DEFB4A data layer.

The strongest signal is observed in stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), where higher DEFB4A RNA is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated DEFB4A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CHOL and ESCA show a favorable association.

STAD, SKCM, and LIHC are the cancer types where DEFB4A RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
