Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DEFB4A RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 4 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of DEFB4A’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma (UCEC), where DEFB4A RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types DEFB4A is over-expressed in tumor.
UCEC, LUAD, and LUSC are the cancer types where DEFB4A tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
