Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DEFA6 mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 3 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated DEFA6 data layer compared with 17 for mass-spec protein and 2 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher DEFA6 mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated DEFA6 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as PDAC show a favorable association.

COAD, PDAC, and UCEC are the cancer types where DEFA6 mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
