Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DEFA3 RNA is linked to patient survival in 19 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated DEFA3 data layer compared with 4 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in cholangiocarcinoma (CHOL), where higher DEFA3 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated DEFA3 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as THYM and LIHC show a favorable association.
CHOL, OV, and UCS are the cancer types where DEFA3 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
