Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, DCXR-DT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of DCXR-DT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where DCXR-DT RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types DCXR-DT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, KIRP, and THCA are the cancer types where DCXR-DT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
