Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CXCR4 RNA is linked to patient survival in 26 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated CXCR4 data layer compared with 6 for mutation status and 2 for mass-spec protein.

The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher CXCR4 RNA is associated with better disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CXCR4 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and LUAD show a favorable association.

HNSC, UVM, and LUAD are the cancer types where CXCR4 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
