Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CTBP1-DT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 14 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CTBP1-DT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where CTBP1-DT RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CTBP1-DT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH and THCA show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, LIHC, and KIRP are the cancer types where CTBP1-DT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
