Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CR1L RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 7 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CR1L’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney chromophobe (KICH), where CR1L RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CR1L is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as LIHC and KIRP show the opposite, repressed pattern.
KICH, LIHC, and HNSC are the cancer types where CR1L tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
