Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, COX5B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 10 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of COX5B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in liver hepatocellular carcinoma (LIHC), where COX5B RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types COX5B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as HNSC and KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LIHC, LUSC, and LUAD are the cancer types where COX5B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
