Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CKMT1B RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CKMT1B’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where CKMT1B RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CKMT1B is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KIRC and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

KIRC, LUAD, and COAD are the cancer types where CKMT1B tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
