Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CHMP4C RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CHMP4C’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), where CHMP4C RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CHMP4C is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as KICH show the opposite, repressed pattern.
LUAD, LIHC, and UCEC are the cancer types where CHMP4C tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
