Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CHI3L2 RNA is linked to patient survival in 24 of 34 cancer types, making it the most broadly survival-associated CHI3L2 data layer compared with 3 for mutation status and 2 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), where higher CHI3L2 RNA is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated CHI3L2 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as HNSC and ESCA show a favorable association.
KIRC, LGG, and HNSC are the cancer types where CHI3L2 RNA most reproducibly stratifies survival.
