Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CEBPA-DT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 11 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CEBPA-DT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where CEBPA-DT RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CEBPA-DT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and LUAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, LUAD, and LIHC are the cancer types where CEBPA-DT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
