Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CAMK2N1 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 16 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CAMK2N1’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where CAMK2N1 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CAMK2N1 is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as COAD and KIRC show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, COAD, and KIRC are the cancer types where CAMK2N1 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
