Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, CACNA1I RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 9 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of CACNA1I’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.

The strongest signal is observed in thyroid carcinoma (THCA), where CACNA1I RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types CACNA1I is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as THCA and COAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.

THCA, LUAD, and KICH are the cancer types where CACNA1I tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
