Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, C8orf86 Mutation is linked to patient survival in 2 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated C8orf86 data layer compared with 16 for mass-spec protein.
The strongest signal is observed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), where higher C8orf86 Mutation is associated with worse overall survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated C8orf86 expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker.
HNSC and BLCA are the cancer types where C8orf86 Mutation most reproducibly stratifies survival.
