Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, C8A mass-spec protein is linked to patient survival in 7 of 34 cancer types, making it a survival-associated C8A data layer compared with 18 for mass-spec protein and 7 for mutation status.

The strongest signal is observed in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD), where higher C8A mass-spec protein is associated with worse disease-free survival. In most high-consensus cancer types, elevated C8A expression acts as an unfavorable survival marker, although some lineages such as CCRCC and GBM show a favorable association.

COAD, LUAD, and PDAC are the cancer types where C8A mass-spec protein most reproducibly stratifies survival.
