Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, C18orf12 RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of C18orf12’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in bladder urothelial carcinoma (BLCA), where C18orf12 RNA is more highly expressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types C18orf12 is over-expressed in tumor.
BLCA are the cancer types where C18orf12 tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
