Across TCGA pan-cancer cohorts, BORCS7-ASMT RNA differs between tumor and matched normal tissue in 1 of 18 cancer types tested, making tumor–normal expression one of BORCS7-ASMT’s most consistent transcriptional readouts.
The strongest signal is observed in pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD), where BORCS7-ASMT RNA is repressed in tumor relative to normal tissue. In most cancer types BORCS7-ASMT is over-expressed in tumor, although a few such as PAAD show the opposite, repressed pattern.
PAAD are the cancer types where BORCS7-ASMT tumor–normal differential expression is most reproducible.
